USBC: The Cost of Illegal Immigration

The state with the most illegal alien workers also has the highest unemployment

A few months ago, Sen. Harry Reid (D-NV) said publicly that the claim that illegal aliens are working construction jobs in Nevada (17 percent of those jobs) is “absolutely without foundation.” However, on Tuesday, The Pew Hispanic Center released a report which shows that illegal aliens make up 10 percent of Nevada’s workforce. That is up from 2009, when illegal aliens accounted for 9.4 percent of those working in the state. It is no coincidence that Nevada also has the nation’s highest rate of unemployment. According to the U.S. Department of Labor, the state’s unemployment rate is now 14.5 percent.

Hiding in the Shadows No More

Today’s illegal aliens aren’t hiding in the shadows. They’re activists, campaigning for candidates, illegally registering and voting elections; and taking over our universities, poisoning the minds of their classmates. The Collegian ( California State Universty (CSU) at Fresno) newspaper recently reported what appears to be a blatant example of what is wrong both with our immigration policies and our universities, especially in California! A student journalist, Michael Kincheloe, has shown the courage to be a great reporter. He told the truth about one of his classmates. Will he get a Pulitzer or get shunned by the media elites? DHS Study Proves Deportation of Illegals is a Great Bargain!

DHS Security Assistant Secretary for Legislative Affairs, Nelson Peacock, recently reported, “Our conservative estimate suggests that ICE would require a budget of more than $135 billion to apprehend, detain and remove the nation’s entire illegal immigrant population.  He probably released this to show how expensive it would be to have the government remove all illegal aliens. But Mr. Peacock was mistaken.  He, apparently, wasn’t aware of the July 2010 study, which examined the costs of illegal immigration at the federal, state and local levels.  This study revealed that U.S. state and local governments shell out about $84 billion a year

Police deputies stopped a truck as it left the construction site and discovered the driver had a suspended license and was in the country illegally. The driver also admitted that he lived with 16 others in nearby homes. When deputies raided the houses, they rounded up a total of fourteen illegal aliens.  Six were charges with criminal use of personal information – using stolen Social Security numbers. Could We Use a Quick $75 Trillion?

Somehow, I don’t think anybody reads these signs – in English OR Spanish!!   If we collected $5,000 from every illegal that came across the border, could we even put a dent in the National Deficit? Gee, let’s see… 15 million X $5,000… Nah! That’s only $75 Trillion… but a pretty good dent. It’s a shame our politicians never visit their “secure” border. If they did, they might have read this sign and solved both our deficit and immigration problems overnight.
