U.S. Border Control

New Tancredo ad says Central American gangs have entered U.S. due to open borders

December 4, 2007

Republican Tom Tancredo has unveiled a hard-hitting TV ad on illegal immigration, blaming porous borders for allowing violent Central American gangs into the U.S..

The commercial shows victims of the gangs in Central America, then shows victims in the US as the screen says, 'Pushing Drugs. Raping Kids. Destroying Lives. The Consequences of Open Borders.'

The ad will air in Iowa, and is a sequel to one of the most talked-about ads of the presidential campaign, one which warned that terrorists were loose in the US because of lax immigration laws. It showed a hooded man entering a shopping mall and ended with the sound of an explosion.

The Colorado congressman has been the most vociferous on the issue, and at last week's debate took credit for other Republicans also talking tough.
