Physician cites immigrants' medical problems

July 27, 2001

As a physician, I can attest to the medical problems that immigrants bring to this country.

After the fall of southeast Asia, millions of refugees came here.

I covered an emergency room at the time and I found that many of them had parasites and other exotic diseases.

There should have been some kind of clearinghouse for them before they were permitted to join the general population.

In a interesting sidelight, most of them were at first on welfare but six months later, they would come for medical care and were no longer.

They must have actually believed the case workers who told them that they had to get jobs because most of them became successful entrepreneurs or got themselves jobs. This was one time where the liberals plans blew up in their faces.

First, they made sure that these people's native countries fell to communism.

They probably figured that they'd join the ranks of the dependent who could be counted on as Democratic voters but it wasn't the case.

But yet another addendum, I've noticed that the second generation, the descendants, do join up 'on the card', as we say (the welfare card).

Ah, America.
