U.S. Border Control

Friends,

The following articles and writings show the problems that continue to exist here in America. John Slagle has many years of experience in law enforcement. He knows what he is talking about and is terribly concerned that our leaders have their heads in the sand on issues that could be the life or death of this country.

Jim Kolbe is one of those politicians who does not care for the regular folks and will not uphold the laws of our constitution and in his state of Arizona. Randy Graf would be an outstanding representative for Arizona and for American and he’d stand tall for securing our borders, getting tough on the illegal invasion crisis, and would take his oath of office seriously each and every day.

Because of people like Karl Rove, our country’s safety and protection continue to be in jeopardy. He refuses to address these issues and threatens people like Tom Tancredo for standing tall and speaking the truth. Rover now has given directives to Republicans not to talk about the illegal invasion for fear of retribution. We must let our voices be known to him and the radio programs/television programs would be great ways to do that.

The last article in the New York Times shows how Border Patrol agents feel about Homeland Security. Over 60% of them state they are not being allowed to do their jobs. Why? We all know why, but it still baffles me that our leaders in the agencies, Congress, this administration, etc. seem to care more for the P.C. groups, the cheap labor lobbies, the drug culture, the vote panderers, the multiculturalists than for you and me. We the people should be what the elections are about, but we are not.

The above stated reasons and more are what this is really all about—how sickening, how outrageous. We must act before it is too late.

Take care.

Insist that our elected officials follow the constitution of the U.S. of America Article IV, Section 4. We are to be protected against invasion!!!!!!!!

In a matter that goes beyond politics, the President's nephew is now condemning the US Border Patrol for using pepper spray and projectiles against illegal aliens.

Perhaps a fact the article fails to mention is why pepper projectiles is preferable to lethal force when an Agent is under attack by a barrage of rocks thrown from Mexico in international border cities such as Douglas and Nogales, Arizona. The assaults against Border Patrol Agents have steadily increased for decades from firearms incidents to rock throwers.

An Agent who is shot at by armed smugglers has every right to return lethal fire. The same holds true for any lethal weapon, which includes knives, clubs or rocks.

For the sheltered members of society who have never been a target for a barrage of "baseball sized stones" incoming from any quarter, it is a mortal situation. "Stoning" from the days of the Bible was a means of death for an individual.

In my early days on the Rio Grande in 1972, Mexican drug smugglers across the line often met death by "Golpe" when they cheated on narcotics shipments. Cartels wanted to make a statement, beyond a bullet to the brain.

In 1968, a time many have forgotten or never knew, America was a turbulent place, Viet Nam, Martin Luther King assassinated and riots ensued across the country. Police were armed with batons and high-pressure water cannons, which caused many injuries in a riot situation.

The Border Patrol in 1982, when called upon to assist in riot control duties in Miami, were trained in Koga and the use of a baton to regain control of Federal Immigration Detention under siege by Haitians to be deported. CS gas was also used which usually solved a situation without use of force.

In my career with the Border Patrol, I've known times when specially fortified vehicles, War wagons with steel grates were used to patrol the lines in problem areas near the frontier from San Diego, California to Arizona. The grating was a shield from "rock attacks" prior to a wall erected in many border cities.

Through the years, Agents have been injured severely by assaults by rocks and returned lethal fire which ended the situation but created an international incident in politics. Police agencies have found throughout the United States that Pepper Spray is a proven option in assault incidents. It quickly takes away the hostile aggression and by one person or a group controls a dangerous situation.

In an election year, it's amazing the material that comes out on the media. From DHS, all Inspectors on the Border must have sensitivity training, despite a war on terror, don't ask too many politically incorrect questions of arriving nonimmigrant aliens.

Preclude the Border Patrol from any interior enforcement duties and now using a nonlethal chemical agent as opposed to a 40 caliber bullet when "rocks, stones" are incoming is presented as a terrible injustice in Mexico City, and not condoned by President Bush, per the nephew. Silver Stars, who was the hero or not the hero because of Guard Service in the Nam Era, Bush or Kerry?

My heroes in life were the 58,136 Americans that were killed in action in Viet Nam. I could also list Vets from WW II including my father KIA, South Pacific, one of many thousands, Korea, to present times. Veterans are very special people that should never be forgotten.

The vote: concerned citizens place politicians in office and only citizens can vote them out if they do not achieve a job standard for the majority. It means being accountable for your actions or inactions spanning decades, not a brief period of time in military service.

Politics will always be politics, but in these times, a citizen who does not get involved and believes everything on the news media as fact regarding illegal immigration has never been on our Southern Borders.

The President's nephew as an expert on illegal immigration issues, law enforcement procedures and international politics is a total amazement.

Tom Tancredo since 911, an elected Congressman has presented fact after fact, border assaults against officers, Mexican military incursions, " firefights," civilian concerns on crime and suspected terrorists EWI and the matricula ID card. As an elected leader of Colorado, Mr. Tancredo was here for the people of Arizona in 2002 when Invasion events were rarely covered by the local news. Dope trails to human trafficking areas, he established facts which were presented to Congress on National Security issues, porous borders.

Perhaps after over thirty years enforcing the laws of this nation, a President's relative's opinion is more qualified than an Agent in the media circus. The true reality is what people believe or want to believe. Movie stars, politician's relatives, veterans, special interest groups, all are experts in every field. Few politicians ever make a decision based on a “backbone" and the will of the majority from either party.

Pepper spray is terrible in an assault situation. Perhaps, a large "Government issued" ostrich feather waved in the air could be a new tool for defense of the United States on our Borders, replacing firearms.

Dear Team America,

Thanks to you, our ad is written, produced, and began running today on radio stations in Arizona! We have it going extremely heavy in Kolbe's stronghold. Your contributions have
paid for the ad to run throughout next Tuesday.

Now our goal is to keep hammering away through the primary on Sept 7th. Our thanks to all who helped us get it up and on the airwaves. It is exactly what we need to do right now to help Randy Graf. Let's keep this ad going strong for the next 2 weeks so we can reach as many Arizona voters as possible.

Dump Kolbe - Vote for Graf!

PS -- See the ad text below. Note the audio version is much better! I will have the audio files available on the website as soon as I get them.

Text of Team America Radio Ad Fact:

10 million illegal aliens live in our country.

Question: Where does it stop? The issue is amnesty and how it affects our personal and national security. You’d think Jim Kolbe would be concerned. Yet Kolbe sponsored legislation to grant amnesty to these invaders even though since just last October, nearly 10,000 of those arrested on the border have criminal records.

What on earth is Kolbe thinking? Kolbe even supports providing free health benefits to illegals - benefits we can barely pay for ourselves. Jim Kolbe has failed us, time and again. If you agree we need to stop amnesty and secure our borders, we must vote for leaders committed to these goals.

That’s why Randy Graf makes sense for Congress. The House Republican Leader, Randy Graf believes we must control our borders and in Congress he’ll battle to do so.

The John & Ken radio show

The John & Ken radio show (Los Angeles) provided the forum that called Asa Hutchinson to account for hindering the Border Patrol "sweeps."

Today, John & Ken announced that White House political advisor Karl Rove has issued a "muzzle" order to all Republican Congressmen: Keep quiet on the subject of illegal immigration or no GOP funding for your campaign.

Perhaps that's why Texas Congressman Jack Culberson (author of the House amendment blocking the Treasury Department's acceptance of the Mexican matricula consular) was suddenly unable to keep his appearance on Houston's "Terry Lowry Program." John & Ken said that they are unable to reach him.

Karl Rove will be on Bret Hume (FOX NEWS @ 4:00 Mountain Time) on Wednesday, August 25. Please contact Hume and flood him with e- mails about illegal immigration before Rove appears on his show.

It is a rare opportunity, and we must let our voices be heard. This is our only chance to hit Rove head-on as citizens in Temecula did with Asa Hutchinson.

Special@FoxNews.com is Bret's e- mail. Remember that Karl Rove issued the "never darken the door of the White House" order to Tom Tancredo after his comments linking the 9/11 terrorist attacks to Washington's failure to enforce US immigration laws.

Study finds most border officers feel security ought to be better

August 24, 2004
By RACHEL L. SWARNS

WASHINGTON, Aug. 23 - More than 60 percent of Border Patrol agents and immigration officers surveyed for a study issued on Monday said the Department of Homeland Security could do more to stop potential terrorists from entering the country, and more than a third said they were not satisfied that they had the tools and training to do so.

The survey, of 500 border agents and immigration inspectors, was conducted for the unions representing them by Peter D. Hart Research Associates. It found them sharply divided on whether the country was safer now than before the 9/11 attacks: 53 percent said it was, but 44 percent said it was no safer or was less safe. "Prior to Sept. 11, 2001, it was extremely easy to enter the United States illegally," said T. J. Bonner, president of one of the unions, the National Border Patrol Council.

“Incredibly, this has not changed in any meaningful way." The survey also found low morale to be pervasive.

Officials at the Department of Homeland Security dismissed the survey as biased and inaccurate, saying it offered only a limited snapshot of the views of the department's 42,000 employees. They cited a number of strides, among them airport inspectors' collection of digital fingerprints and photographs from more than six million foreign visitors since January, the first move toward creating a comprehensive system to screen travelers.

In the last six months, the officials said, the department has turned away hundreds of criminals, travelers with fake documents, including fraudulent passports, and others barred from entry to the United States.

The study did include some positive findings. Sixty-four percent of the employees surveyed described themselves as very satisfied or fairly satisfied with their workload, and 59 percent said they received the support they needed from their immediate supervisors.

The study, conducted from July 30 through Aug. 7, had a margin of sampling error of plus or minus five percentage points.
